2015 the 9th Diplomat Cooking Competition is jointly organized by China International Diplomatic Relations Association, Diplomat Magazine, Uroaming, Gujinggong, Xinhe, Qiongyou, Oriental Sunshine International Media and other organization. It was successfully held in Beijing Yishiliu Club on November,29th.
The theme of this year’competition is One Belt and One Road, Taste the World Together! All the embassies that joined in the competition are required to make dishes according to this theme, cook, and present the dishes at the event. The participants join the event in individual, family, or group and they cook in various ways and present the work in ten minutes. A panel of judges made up of the members from China Cooking Competition will grade the dishes and present the award later.
There are 40 countries that sign for the cooking competition, and 18 of them make it to the last round. It is a truly high-level competition. The team from Russia Cultural Center win the first prize with their work One Belt One Road Russia. The wife of Portuguese ambassador and their three kids participated in the event and won the second place on behalf of the Portuguese embassies. The handsome and beautiful team members from Belarusian embassies wear national clothes and present wonderful dishes We Belarusian for the judges and won the third award.
Apart from that, Greek, Ukraine, Syria, Germany, India, Sri Lanka, Lithuania, Serbia, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia, Turkey, Korea, Pakistan and many other countries also present their creative and wonderful work and win the Best Cooking Skill Award, the Best Group Award, The Best Concept Award. The name of their works reflects a strong affection for their countries, such as Belgrade, the Guardian of the Motherland, Aegean Sea, Bucharest, My Love from the Stars, Silk Road Culture, Damascus.
Chinese team, made of 16 students of LiuHai Jun, a Chinese master chef,jointly cook a series of dishes called Uroaming. Their skill and performance and work win the applause of all the diplomats and indicate Chinese profound cooking skill.
Mr.Zhang Dahai, the deputy secretary general of Chinese Cooking Association says during the competition that the dishes presented by diplomats are so fantastic that the association is willing to promote One Belt and One Road cuisine culture.
Ambassador of Tunisia is a fan of delicacy. He tells the reporter that he hopes that he can learn from a Chinese chef, and it will be the best if the recipes belongs to some private kitchens and restaurants.

Ms Sunny Ren is the general secretary and planner of the competition, who is also President of Beijing Oriental International Consultant Center. She introduces this competition for us. The first Diplomats Cooking Competition was held in Beijing in 2006. Since then, it wins the reputation of Diplomacy on Tongue and is held in Shanghai, Tianjin and Berlin for nine years. It win the support from more than 200 embassies and diplomats and is well received by people. It promotes the spread of Chinese cuisine culture and the Chinese-West cultural exchange. It is a high-end brand with the reputation of “the most international, the most national, the most historical, the most modern event”.
