J:It happens to me when I visited China for the first time in 1976. Those days I was the Third Secretary of the Peruvian Embassy in Japan. I visited China as a tourist. I was very impressed with the vitality and kindness of the people. I noticed that they were simple people but they were very convinced that they had a bright future. I saw that China was a poor country, but I didn't see misery, every one had a place to work, a place to rest and food to eat. At night the people used to dance at the parks and main avenues. Even of the economic situation, they were always happy and friendly. I was very impressrd with thr kind of society China was.
