Preface
Again, it is such a time in the year when leaves of Chinese parasols in Sanlitun start to fall, and the persimmons of Ritan Road turn red.
With diplomats leaving their office, a new group of them step in.
I have witnessed the greetings and farewells of the embassy district of Beijing, and whenever I receive a notice and attend such event, I would have some mixed feelings: "As time flies away, I have to catch the string of it!"
As someone said - “Sunny is always there to welcome and see off diplomats.”
From the year 2003 when I started my career in diplomatic public relations till today, those diplomats who have left are like the stars in the sky, shedding light on my way.
I remember every bright smile, every warm hand, every vivid name, and every beautiful melody.
For the purpose of better recording the stories of the diplomats, my team and I have established a festival belonging to them exclusively - "Diplomatic Culture Festival".
The key to sound international relations is the affinity between the people, which largely stems from their mutual understanding, mutual trust and friendship.
Diplomacy belongs to people.
"I have been a diplomat in China for 11 years. I have assumed office in China and left twice. If you ask me what I love most about China? The answer is the people.
I have a bunch of good friends here who have shared happiness with me over the years. That is why I am reluctant to leave here. This is my home. ”
In May, my good friend Mr. Emmanuel Stantzos, the Greek Commercia minister to China said he was looking forward to returning to the land after retiring at the farewell party before leaving for Paris: "Please wait for us to come back!"
In every corner of the world, such diplomats with great love are saying: China, I will be back.
On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China, we dedicate this special issue to China and to Chinese diplomacy and all diplomats.
Thank you all! Shall we never leave each other until the time ends.
Long live the great unity of the people of the world!
