During the occasion, Ambassador Marty engaged in a cordial and friendly exchange with representatives from the WRSA Swiss Chapter, including Vice President CHEN Xiaofeng, former President DUANMU Mei, former Vice President GAO Xiang, Secretary General ZHAO Shun, and member representative QIN Yusen, followed by a group photograph. The Ambassador also conveyed her sincere New Year greetings to all attendees.
Ambassador Marty is a graduate of the University of Zurich, where she studied Sinology, History, and International Law. Prior to joining the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1996, she served as a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Sri Lanka and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her distinguished diplomatic career includes postings at the Swiss Embassy in New Delhi, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and the International Organisations Division of the Directorate of Political Affairs. She served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (2002–2007), as Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Beijing (2007–2011), and as Ambassador of Switzerland to Kosovo (2011–2016). In 2016, she was appointed Deputy State Secretary and Deputy Head of the Directorate of Political Affairs, later assuming the role of Acting Head from January to December 2020. Since January 2021, she served as Ambassador of Switzerland to the Russian Federation before presenting a copy of her credentials in Beijing in mid‑November 2025, officially commencing her duties as Swiss Ambassador to China.
