导语:Speech by Ambassador Fazli of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China at the Reception Celebrating the 47th Anniversary of the Founding of Iran and the 55th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Iran and China

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
His Excellency Mr. Miao Deyu, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, our Distinguished Guest of Honor,
Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Distinguished Guests,
It is a great honor and privilege to commemorate the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this warm and cordial gathering, held in the capital of our friendly and long-standing partner, the People’s Republic of China. This occasion is a reminder of the steadfastness, resilience, and continuity of the Iranian nation in bringing the Islamic Revolution to fruition under the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini and the martyrs; A nation with a civilization and culture spanning several millennia, which throughout the centuries and amid the fluctuations of history has preserved its national and civilizational identity and, through collective wisdom and social cohesion, has consistently advanced along the path of progress and development.
This day commemorates the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution under the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini and the subsequent development and advancement of Iran under the guidance of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Iran’s National Day offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on the depth and meaning of Iranian national identity and to appreciate the enduring cultural and social bonds that have united its people across generations. It is also an occasion to recognize Iran’s exceptional capacity for renewal—its ability to overcome adversity and transform challenges into opportunities. Drawing upon the accumulated experience of centuries, as well as its rich human and cultural capital, Iran has not only ensured its own continuity, but has also stood throughout world history as a symbol of wisdom, stability, and cultural vitality, firmly establishing itself as one of the enduring pillars of human civilization.
One of the most compelling expressions of this historical continuity has been Iran’s active engagement along the routes of global interaction, most notably within the framework of the Silk Road. This historic network transformed Iran into a vital bridge between East and West and among diverse cultures and civilizations. Through knowledge, creativity, and civilizational capacity, the Iranian people played a meaningful role in economic, scientific, and cultural exchanges, transforming geographical frontiers into a vast network of human and civilizational interaction—one that not only contributed to Iran’s prosperity, but also enriched global culture and civilization as a whole.
Within this broad historical context, relations between Iran and China, as two ancient civilizations in East and West Asia, stand as a distinguished example of enduring friendship, mutual respect, and constructive cooperation. Rooted in centuries of cultural and economic interaction, these relations have, in the contemporary era, been elevated to a comprehensive and strategic level. Cooperation between our two countries in the fields of economy, energy, infrastructure, science and technology, and cultural exchange is not only a natural continuation of our shared historical experience, but also a reflection of our forward-looking vision and shared responsibility in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development at both regional and global levels. The Islamic Republic of Iran, while firmly safeguarding its territorial integrity and national interests, has consistently played a constructive and responsible role in preserving regional peace and stability.
Despite the many challenges and transformations it has faced throughout history, the Iranian nation has continuously drawn lessons from its past and demonstrated the capacity to turn adversity into opportunity. In confronting domestic and international challenges, Iran has remained committed to the pursuit of development and progress. In a world characterized by uncertainty and rapid change, Iran follows a balanced, responsible, and sustainable policy, firmly believing that a future based on peace, development, and peaceful coexistence can only be achieved through dialogue, cooperation, and mutual respect among nations.
Looking ahead, the Islamic Republic of Iran has founded its international relations on the principles of peace, constructive engagement, and sustainable development, and remains firmly determined to further strengthen its historical and strategic relations with the People’s Republic of China. In this context, the year 2026 marks both the fifty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of modern diplomatic relations between Iran and China and the tenth anniversary of the formation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between our two countries. Throughout these years, the leaders of both nations have demonstrated steadfast determination in advancing bilateral relations. This Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has been manifested not only in our shared opposition to unilateralism, but also in close cooperation to strengthen multilateralism and advance initiatives related to global development and global security. There is no doubt that, inspired by a proud shared history and guided by the will of our leaders and peoples, Iran–China relations will continue to grow deeper and broader in the years ahead.
In conclusion, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the friendly government and people of China for their valuable support and constructive cooperation, and to convey my best wishes for the continued prosperity, progress, and flourishing of the two great nations of Iran and China. Drawing upon its historical experience, rich cultural heritage, and the collective wisdom of its people, the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to pursue a path of constructive interaction, strategic cooperation, and sustainable development with the international community, and its friendly and historic relations with China will always hold a distinguished place within Iran’s network of cultural, economic, and civilizational engagement.
Thank you for your kind attention.
