Beijing, June 17, 2026 — International Cuisine & Sustainable Development Forum, a featured event of the 2026 “Taste of Chaoyang” International Gourmet Festival jointly organized by the Chaoyang District Bureau of Commerce, SUMAC Group and Sony China on June 17 at Sumac Restaurant in Beijing, concluded with resounding success.
The event brought together government officials, ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from embassies in China, business leaders, cultural institutions, media representatives and industry partners to explore how cuisine, culture, technology and commerce can create new forms of international exchange and lifestyle experiences.
More than a forum, the event served as a showcase of Sumac’s vision of lifestyle—one that extends beyond dining to encompass culture, design, art, products, hospitality and meaningful human connections.

Sumac: A Lifestyle Platform Connecting Cultures
At the heart of the event was Sumac’s belief that hospitality is not simply about food, but about creating experiences that bring people, cultures and ideas together. Inspired by the rich traditions of Lebanon and the spirit of cultural exchange, Sumac has evolved beyond a restaurant concept into a lifestyle platform that integrates cuisine, design, art, wine, retail products and cross-cultural experiences.
Throughout the event, guests experienced this vision through culinary presentations, cultural showcases, artistic displays and lifestyle collaborations that reflected Sumac’s commitment to building bridges between communities and cultures.

Celebrating China-Lebanon Cultural Exchange
A highlight of the event was the China-Lebanon Intangible Cultural Heritage Artwork Presentation Ceremony.
Everlasting Unity, a specially commissioned underglaze porcelain artwork inspired by the Lebanese cedar, was unveiled as a symbol of friendship, cultural dialogue and shared heritage between China and Lebanon. The presentation reflected Sumac’s long-standing commitment to fostering cultural exchange and demonstrated how art and craftsmanship can serve as powerful vehicles for mutual understanding across borders.
M-Pita, Sumac’s original cultural IP character, also made its debut during the event, engaging guests through interactive displays that highlighted Sumac’s commitment to cultural storytelling and community building.
The cultural program also featured a special performance by renowned singer Sury Su, whose music added a vibrant cultural dimension to the event.
